CHIROPRACTOR
The word chiropractic comes from a combination of the Greek words “chiro” and “praktikis”, meaning “done by hand”. Chiropractors provide specialized “hands-on” treatment of the spine, soft tissues and joints of the body.
A common therapeutic procedure performed by doctors of chiropractic is known as an “adjustment” or “spinal manipulation.” The purpose of manipulation is to restore joint mobility by manually applying a controlled force into joints that have become hypomobile – or restricted in their movement – as a result of a tissue injury. These adjustments also have an effect on the nervous system. Tissue injury can be caused by a single traumatic event, such as improper lifting of a heavy object or a sports injury, or through repetitive stresses, such as sitting in an awkward position with poor spinal posture for an extended period of time. In either case, injured tissues undergo physical and chemical changes that can cause inflammation, pain, and diminished function for the sufferer. Manipulation, or adjustment of the affected joint and tissues, restores mobility thereby alleviating pain, muscle tightness and allowing tissues to heal.

Drs. Kevin, Laura and Taylor focus their treatments on promoting movement throughout all the joints and tissues in the body. They do this by first focusing on treating the muscles, ligaments and tendons in the body using Active Release Technique (ART®)*. Then, if necessary, they utilize many different techniques to adjust various joints in the body depending on what the patient is comfortable with.
